Capturing the perfect shot of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger or a flying Indian Roller requires more than just a good camera. In Pench National Park, the lighting changes rapidly as you move from dense teak forests to open grasslands.
The best light in Pench is during the first hour of the morning safari (6:00 AM - 7:30 AM) and the last hour of the evening safari. The soft golden hue enhances the orange coat of the tigers.
A telephoto lens (at least 300mm) is a must. However, don't forget a wide-angle lens to capture the stunning landscapes of the Pench river reservoir.
Remember, patience is key. Turn off your engine when waiting at a waterhole to avoid vibrations in your shots.
