A unique ecosystem located in the heart of the Thar Desert near Jaisalmer.
Desert National Park is one of the largest national parks in India, covering an area of approximately 3,162 sq. km. Situated near Jaisalmer and Barmer, it offers an outstanding example of the desert ecosystem. The landscape consists of craggy rocks, compact salt lake bottoms, and vast rolling sand dunes.
The park is world-renowned for being one of the last remaining habitats of the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard (GIB). It serves as a sanctuary for desert flora and fauna, including the Desert Fox, Bengal Fox, Chinkara, Wolf, and Blackbuck.
Unlike typical jungle safaris, exploring Desert National Park offers a different kind of thrill. The Sudasari enclosure is the core area for spotting the Great Indian Bustard. Visitors can explore the dunes on 4x4 Jeeps or take Camel safaris to experience the vastness of the Thar.
