A rugged sanctuary surrounding the majestic Kumbhalgarh Fort in the Aravalli Hills.
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is a unique destination in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district, enveloping the historic Kumbhalgarh Fort. The sanctuary is distinct because it is the only place in Rajasthan where Indian Wolves are successfully breeding. The landscape is dominated by the Aravalli range, offering breathtaking views of valleys and dense forests.
The sanctuary is home to a rich variety of wildlife including Leopards, Sloth Bears, Hyenas, Jackals, and Jungle Cats. It also acts as a dividing line between the Mewar and Marwar regions. The famous Kumbhalgarh Wall, the second-longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China, runs through the sanctuary, adding a historical dimension to the wildlife experience.
Visitors can enjoy jeep safaris that traverse through the rugged terrain, offering chances to spot the elusive wolf pack or a leopard basking on the rocks. The monsoon season turns the dry forest into a lush green paradise, making it a scenic delight.
