Planning a wildlife safari in India? Online booking is now mandatory across most national parks and tiger reserves. This guide covers everything you need to know for 2026 — rules, documents, booking steps, and expert tips to get a confirmed permit.
India's forest departments have made online booking compulsory to control overcrowding, ensure fair permit allocation, and protect wildlife. Spot bookings at the gate are discontinued in most core zones. Whether you are visiting Pench Tiger Reserve, Ranthambore, or Jim Corbett, permits must be booked online in advance.
Every passenger's name, age, gender, and nationality must be entered exactly as on their government ID. The same original ID must be carried to the forest gate — digital copies are not accepted.
• Indian nationals: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, PAN Card, or Passport
• Foreign tourists: Passport only (mandatory at both booking and entry)
• Name mismatch = entry denied, no refund
• Madhya Pradesh (Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Satpura, Panna): 120 days advance | Tatkal opens 1 day prior at 5:00 PM
• Ranthambore: 90 days advance | Tatkal at 10:00 AM, 1 day prior
• Jim Corbett: 45 days (Dhikala) / 30 days (other zones)
• Tadoba: 60 days advance
• Kaziranga: 30–45 days advance
Note: Madhya Pradesh core zones are closed every Wednesday evening. Plan accordingly when booking Bandhavgarh, Kanha, or Satpura.
Here is how to book through Jungle Safari Bharat's Online Booking portal:
• 1. Choose your destination — Select from Pench, Tadoba, Gir, Kaziranga, and more.

Advance booking is always recommended — permits are cheaper and availability is far better. Tatkal slots open just 1 day prior and carry a 25–50% premium with very limited seats (10–20% of total quota).
For zones like Touria (Pench MP) and Tala (Bandhavgarh), advance permits sell out within minutes of the window opening. See our Jeep Safari vs Canter Safari 2026 guide for vehicle-wise booking tips.
• Set an alarm 5 minutes before the booking window opens
• Pre-fill all passenger details before the window opens — every second matters
• Book on weekdays — weekends and holidays sell out much faster
• Have a backup zone ready (e.g., Karmajhiri if Touria is full)
• Consider October–December for good sightings with far less booking competition
• Use Jungle Safari Bharat's assisted booking — our team is ready the moment windows open
